Austin Mopeds Best Buds 2018 river rally was hosted by Lester of Austin Mopeds in New Braunfels this past September. It was a weekend of camping, floating the Guadalupe River and nice moped riding. Double Rockin R Camp was the site for the rally HQ. The campsite was off the river we would be floating on, and the water temperature was just right for September.
AUSTIN MOPEDS BEST BUDS 2018 FRIDAY
Friday started out the weekend with a meet and greet. Camp set up, and then a night ride to Gruene for dinner. Gruene is a small town near the campsite.
SATURDAY
Saturday began with breakfast provided by Chrissina of Slow Motions moped gang out of Houston Texas. Followed by a scenic group ride along the river and mountains. The Saturday ride was a 33-mile ride along river road to overlook park and back to the campsite.
Then we floated the Guadalupe River on tubes for about 2 miles back to the campsite. The rest of the day/evening was spent hanging out at the campfire.
SUNDAY
Most Sundays at rallies are spent packing up and heading out. At the Best Buds Rally, Sunday was packed with things to do. The Day started with breakfast cooked by Dave of the Shanks moped club. Then a short moped ride around the towns surrounding the river and campsite. We got back to the campsite for some moped Olympics including dodgeball, moped slow races, and moped pedal races.
An added bonus was an Icecream cake for John of Mono Moped Clan to celebrate his birthday.
