CUSTOM MOPEDS | PROJECT HEMI BATAVUS STARFLIGHT

what does a moped cost

Project Hemi is a Batavus Starflight vintage moped built by Steven of the moped group Brute Squad out of Rhode Island.  Mostly a Starflight model vintage moped built by Batavus is now Steven’s “Batavus GTX”.  This bike is a custom build and engine swap, Centered around a Minarelli V1, and is the first V1 build Steven has done.

In the initial stages of tear down, Steven noticed the cylinder head was domed like a Hemi combustion chamber. He decided on a build theme honoring the HEMI American muscle cars of the late 60’s/early 70’s.  “Hence why I initially dubbed this bike Project Hemi”.   Steven looked at this build as more than a custom moped build.  He took the perspective of building his Batavus up to “what could have been factory correct bike.”  His vision for this build is what he thinks the next generation of the Starflight could of been powered by a Minarelli engine.
